April 2009:
I wanted to update this page as it is over a year since I started this blog and I have been reflecting on how far I’ve come along with this knitting obsession of mine! My love of playing with yarn has grown into my love of spinning a yarn. I have learned to knit socks and lace as well as weave on a loom. I still haven’t dyed any yarn or fiber but it is a the top of my to-do list! I have sewn a doll (using my hand spun yarn for her hair) and want to make more. I also love to draw and take photos. I’ve found that a sort of alchemy comes into play when I pursue many different concepts and mediums – they all influence each other and bounce back and forth to one another. That is the journey I take as an artist, I do not follow a “straight and narrow” path, I make up my own way as I go along, being influenced by life and nature and other artists, and letting the different arts and crafts I pursue percolate together.
Feb. 2008:
Aside from knitting, my interests include vegetable gardening, art, photography, film, baking, local and organic food, urban agriculture and environmental sustainability.
